My name is Reece Patterson and I’m a furniture maker based in Canberra. I’ve been making furniture professionally for the past six years, working primarily with timber and developing a logical, considered approach to design and construction.

Rhodri Furniture started from a long standing desire to branch out on my own and be more involved in the full process. I wanted to take responsibility for the design, the making and the direction of the work. It’s still early days, but the goal is to steadily grow a small range of original pieces and build the business from there.

The current focus is on producing a core collection of made to order furniture. I’m also open to bespoke and custom pieces, and I’m keen to take on projects that allow for collaboration and new ideas as the business develops.

Everything is made in Fyshwick, Canberra.

In 2025 I completed formal training in fine furniture manufacturing at the Sturt School for Wood in Mittagong. That experience strengthened my technical foundation and refined the way I approach joinery, proportion and detail.

I mainly work with timber as it’s what I’ve trained in and what I enjoy working with most. It brings warmth and character, and it requires careful thought around movement, strength and design.

As Rhodri Furniture grows, I’m focused on continuing to refine the work and gradually expand the range in a way that feels genuine and sustainable.
